I so agree with you. That is so fucking true. The damn government has no right whatsoever, to say who you can marry. And yeah, a diploma is just a stupid piece of paper. I mean why should people stay in school, when they have dumbass teachers, who teach you crap you already know. Like, ENglish. All you basically do is learn to write a paper, and learn about stories. woop-di-fricken doo.. and like History, ITS THE PAST! THERES SO MUCH SHIT HAPPENING RIGHT NOW, THAT WE SHOULD LEARN ABOUT BUT NO We ARE LEARNING ABOUT STUFF LIKE, WHAT HAPPENED IN AFRICA SOOOO MANY YEARS AGO. god its such bull shit!

yep. I understand that they want us to know about the past so we have an idea about why things are the way they are, but if they don't teach us what's going on today, then half the history we're learning serves no value.

yep!!!! its pointless.. it will be nice to know, but we are never going to use that unless we are going into government.. and that should be chosen, not required!

think about it... drummingfish January 23 2004, 02:57:32 UTC
if you really think about it....how many times do you really have to deal with "the government". you only have to deal with its affects. i really dont see why all you punks hate the government so much. im not saying its just you guys that dress that way. im fine wioth that more power to you but it just seems like it is a common thread. im not trying to be a jerk (for once) i just felt like putting my point of view. im not trying to piss anyone of at all so dont take it that way. you can think whatever you want ive just always wondered how people can hate something they dont have to deal with directly. these are my thoughts not yours.

just thoguht i'd put in some of my thoughts... neversaydie87 January 23 2004, 03:30:00 UTC
Well I dont like the government anyways becuz it's run by republicans. grr. They are trying to take out the middle class (which is us) and that could be very bad by the time that we're adults. So I hope Bush doesn't win again. But on the subject of the dropping out of school...I dunno. I would never drop out becuz theres soo much out there, and now-a-days you can't even get a decent job with/without a high school diploma. My grandma had to drop out of school when she was in 8th grade (cuz her family was very poor) and she is def. not with the world as it is today, if she would have stayed in school it would have turned out totally different. But thats just my opinion on the matter and I understand why you have your reasons about it cuz you want to go into art as your career. But it's time to leave you all now....BuH-bYe!

I think you might have missed my point. One of the reasons I am mad at the gov. is because of the fact that you cannot get a decent job without graduating high school. The government started that, and then got society to believe that it was the best idea. I would never drop out, either, but the reason why is because I wouldn't be able to continue my education in art and get a job to support myself, because of the way government has built up our society's beliefs.

the government has had an influence on society forever. everything that they do affects everyone in some way, shape, or form, and half of the debateable issues were created by the government in the first place. they have created every standard that exists by sparking debate among society. people are fed ideas, the government starts something and then it becomes one of today's social standards, because the majority of the people do like the ideas they come up with. but the majority isn't everyone, it can be just a little over half over all people, and the people who don't believe the same as the majority are treated differently (by society as a whole) because it's not "acceptable." there are great amounts of people who don't like the decisions being made across the country, and it's not right to force someone to believe something. and i agree with you that people aren't born with hate, that it's taught to them, but it's taught to them by society, which is something the government has the most control over. no one should have ( ... )
