Sirius/Remus fic recs!
Recently it came up again that I love Sirius/Remus and I was talking to a friend who hadn't found many good fics. I started looking up my old recs and decided to do another post. Below are the links and if you see italics after it's what I wrote (if anything) as a note to self when I saved the bookmark. Otherwise, no italics means it's either the author's summary or what I think I remember of it.
haha in typing this up I realized, I think most of these fics are really dark or deal with some pretty violent or depressing situations.
I have bolded the ones that I know for sure I remember especially loving, so those might be my first recs on this list.
**A Failure to Communicate by babycakes14 / Bailey Cakes - well done posthogwarts, fucking depressing, believable, liked snape

**Under a Blue Moon by only_veetee - I remember really liking this. Summary: Remus was raised as Fenrir Greyback's son. During the first war, James and Sirius are sent to persuade the werewolves to join their side.
**A Carnival of Dark and Dangerous Creatures by DragonDi -- this one is actually NOT S/R but I really like it. It's really dark and is a story I've remembered for years. Summary: Four years ago, Remus Lupin lost his friends to death and betrayal. Now he finds himself betrayed once more, and in a place where death may very well be preferred. Winner of the 2009 Hourglass Awards Admin's Choice Award for Drama at The Unknowable Room
**Eglantine by Azrael's Addiction - I didn't leave myself a note on this one but I remember it being both disturbing and good. The summary is: Involves a sadistic Fenrir Greyback, a lonely Sirius Black, and an enslaved Remus Lupin. SBRL
**Our Private Universe by busaikko - no notes on this one and I can't remember anything about it from the summary: Watch Remus, Peter said, look for evidence; but what Sirius found was something different. Christmas 1979.
**Where Your Fingerprints Linger by RemusLives23 - no notes but since RL23 wrote it, that's all the reason I need to know for why I liked it enough to rec. Her stuff is always so much more interesting or nuanced than you expect. Summary: Sirius Black is a party planner and Remus Lupin is the stripper who has the audacity to turn up to one of Sirius' parties. Despite an immediate attraction, a misunderstanding means that they part on bad terms, but a meeting at a wedding leads to an agreement to share one night of passion. Just one night. Nothing more. Magical AU.
**Accidentally in Love by LupinsLittleSister - the note I have on this one is a spoiler so I'm spoiler tagging it. [Spoiler (click to open)]Note: Lily (a Healer) discovers Remus is a werewolf. This is a fic I tried to remember previously based on that spoiler and could never remember which fic it was so I think I put it in my recs folder to remember it. This is the summary: Sirius and Remus both had their own reasons for never falling in love. But since when does love listen to reason? (Slash, RL/SB, some original characters)
**Remedial Potions by Rageprufrock (formerly glitterati) - I was SO SAD because I had a note on this one and wanted to have it on the list but the link was dead. Luckily, I didn't give up! And discovered the author on AO3 after having changed her name :D
**********(btw, anyone who hasn't used AO3 as a fanfic search should definitely check it out. They have some great stuff there and the awesome ability to save ANY FIC as an ebook, plus you can bookmark things so it alerts you when a new chapter is added, etc. I love AO3/Archive of Our Own.)**********

** The Blood Blistering Brew by deena - remus screws up a potion, r/s, i like because s comes onto r, r resists, s persistant. [Spoiler (click to open)]cons: hard to understand with slang and ending better wo last few paragraphs -- haha wow I wrote a lot of notes to self on that one o_O
**Riding the Rails by thesiriusmoon -- I LOVE THIS ONE UGGH. Another one where the story stays in my mind because it's so unique. note: awesome AU set in the Great Depression. Summary: During the Great Depression, more than a quarter of a million teenagers left their homes and hopped freight trains looking for work or adventure…
**Three Card Monte by enjambament - fun Ocean's Eleven-type AU. Summary: In which you can’t cheat an honest man, or, in which Remus and Sirius steal a piano.
**My Arranged Gay Marriage by Children of the Shadows - I left myelf no notes on this one, and bookmarked ch7, so honestly this might not have been meant for the rec folder and maybe for the reading folder? Not sure. I'm putting here in case it was awesome. Summary: Lily is constantly trying to set Remus up with random and strange men. This time it's Sirius Black, and while Remus is reluctant to accept it, he might just be the one. Only, Sirius's intentions aren't all that pure. R/S
** Tom Jones (A Love Story) by wook77 - Another one I about had a heart attack over when the link didn't work. I tracked it down though! This one sticks in my head, too, although I generally remember the basic part of it which was the note I left myself: rich Sirius, poor musician Remus (bonus: here's where someone else recced it too :D)

Ok so some of the above are ones I would have wanted to track down because I remember loving them but I'm pretty sure I'm still missing others that I really enjoyed.
I do want to take this moment to recommend ANYTHING by RemusLives23. But in particular, ones I can remember offhand based on titles are:
** Muse: I loooove this one. Summary: Remus is a struggling artist who loses his confidence after a car accident. He goes back to basics to try and rediscover his talent and meets a man who inspires him both professionally and personally. AU. Slash.
** Take This Sinking Boat (and Point It Home): Sent on a mission by Dumbledore, an estranged Remus and Sirius must find a way to push their mistrust and anger aside and work together.
**Some Dream by Day - non-magic AU written for rs_games. her summary: "Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible." - TE Lawrence.
** Stalking Sirius - I loooove this one. Summary: Reluctant paparazzo, Remus Lupin, manipulates his way into secretive rock star, Sirius Black's, life, hoping for a scoop that will kick start his flagging career. Instead, he finds himself torn between his growing feelings for Sirius, and the article of a lifetime.
**Five Times Remus Lupin Rendered Sirius Black Speechless (and the One Time Sirius Turned the Tables) - summary is the title lol
**Sirius Black's Diary - A series of diary entries that mark a revelation for Sirius.
ALSO, I still haven't read Shoebox Project but I see it mentioned a lot.
And I just discovered this interesting thing at pinterest... I think it's a search of all pinterest bookmarks mentioning S/R and the notes + links.
