...I just stayed up until 4 am watching all of Mirai Nikki, and it turns out the series isn't even over. I'm guessing next episode is the last?
I knew nothing at all about Mirai Nikki but I kept seeing its name pop up different places. Then a friend gave a short explanation: some people gain the power to predict the future but also are then stuck in a survival-of-the-fittest situation where they have to identify and kill each other until one is left. Mirai Nikki means Future Diary, and that's the name of the devices that predict the future.
Here's the opening sequence:

Turns out it's based on a 12 volume (complete) manga series. I have no idea how the 23-episodes-as-of-now anime compares to the manga series, but I do have these things to say:
1) The series is actually really good. I thought several times "Ok I'll stop here" but just kept watching and watching until I ran out of episodes.
2) It's pretty violent and dark but it's also surprisingly funny in places. It's weird how they manage to do that well.
3) One of the main characters is a total psychopath and it's kind of awesome because it makes it really difficult to tell whether or not the person can be believed when they say things or if they're just insane.
4) There's (sort of) a bit of BL in it but don't go into watching it thinking the whole thing is BL, because it's not. Also, there's (sort of) a bit of femmeslash in it too.
5) I really like the characters. There's one or two that sometimes made me yell at the screen "What the fuck are you doing! NO! That thought you just had was wrong!!" or "What the hell-- NO DON'T DO THAT!" but those same characters also had me really endeared or sympathetic other places so overall I actually see it as a good thing that they frustrated me in places. I like human, flawed characters more than ones who never make mistakes. (Although one of the episodes I spent the whole time yelling at the character XD wtf man I know people make mistakes BUT LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHEN THEY TALK TO YOU FFS! jeeeez...) The character who's my favorite is consistently awesome all the way through. There were a lot of side characters I liked too, and things I didn't expect to happen, or happen the way that they did.
It's also a pretty anime, as you can probably tell from the opening sequence. The one thing that's kind of weird is in really graphic places (like for instance if you would see the end of a cut off hand) they blur it out and yet blood flies all over the place. It makes me wonder if the manga is really graphic or does the same...
Anyway, I recommend the series if it sounds at all interesting to you.
And now I really should try to make myself sleep now so I guess I'm off to do that. The icon seemed appropriate so I went with it lol Also, I suspect the little mini can of iced mocha coffee I had earlier today didn't help with my inability to stop watching...
