Notes: Written for open_on_Sunday  ’s challenge: time.

 I.
She knew in her heart of hearts that it was only a matter of time before he found her and destroyed her. However, there was a part of her that prayed to God for forgiveness and that part of her believed that if she only consecrated herself to God then her prayers would be answered. She had to believe in something and she had to believe that she would be saved, especially if the Devil in the guise of a fallen angel was hunting her. She had already lost so much and she hoped that she wouldn’t lose anything else.

II.
When she had sired Spike she had thought that they would have forever, time had never meant anything to her. She and her family would stalk their prey throughout the world, timeless by their nature. But she was soon proven wrong when her Daddy was stolen from her by the gypsies. They had cursed him with his soul and then it was just her, Spike and Darla. But soon Darla had left them as well. And now it was just her and Spike alone in the world, and she lived in fear that time would steal him away from her.

III.
Time had passed her by. Everyone that she had ever truly cared about was dead and gone. Darla had died on her twice, once by the hand of his sire and then by her own hand. Spike had left her only to die helping the Slayer that he claimed to love. And Angelus had died when he received the soul. Angel was the only one that was left, and in her mind he didn’t count. He was a pale shadow of the vampire that had sired her. She was lost in the world and she was a victim of time.
