Summary: Dean tries to teach Faith how to properly shoot.

A Slayer didn’t use modern weapons that often, instead the weapons that the Chosen One relied on were the type that had been carried by generations of Slayers that had come and gone before her. The Watchers’ Council had believed that it was some type of collective memory that was passed down to each girl. Whatever the case was, a Slayer’s main weapon of choice was often a crudely carved wooden stake that seemed to fit into the palm of her hand like no other weapon. Besides the stake, a Slayer would use bladed weapons and the occasional bow; weapons that were most affective against the monsters that she hunted.

Therefore it wasn’t too surprising that Faith was struggling to actually hit a target with the .45 automatic that Dean was attempting to teach her how to shoot. Faith thought that she’d have an easier time if it weren’t for the weapon’s recoil. She cursed as she missed the target again and the gun bit the fragile skin between her thumb and forefinger again.

“Come on Faith it’s not that difficult.”
”Easy for you to say, you were probably born with a gun in each hand.”
”Hardly,” Dean dryly responded to Faith’s sarcasm.
“Why do I need to learn how to shoot this damn thing again?”
“Because it’s the twenty-first century and not everything can be taken down by a stake, now shoot the target.”
“Damn it!” Faith cursed as the hammer of the gun bit her already tender flesh again. “Here let me help.”

Before Faith could respond, Dean had moved behind her so that their bodies were flush against one another. His arms moved so that his hands covered her as he guided her body into a proper stance.

“I did it!” Faith exclaimed as she hit the target with Dean’s help.
“Beginner’s luck,” Dean replied with a smile.
“Hardly.”
“Come on, let’s practice some more.”
“Do I have to?” Faith asked with a slight whine.
“Yeah, you still need to shoot the target without me guiding you.”
“I still think that this is pointless.”
“Are you saying that you don’t like this?” Dean asked as he guided her body into the proper stance once again, “That you don’t like my teaching?”
“I’m just more comfortable with a crossbow.”
“A crossbow can’t fire rock salt.”
“I can think of something else that’d be more fun than this,” Faith suggested as she wiggled her hips against his.
“I’m sure that I can as well, but that won’t help us with the ghost that we need to take down. But afterwards…” Dean trailed off as he bit Faith’s earlobe.
“Tease.”
“Perhaps but we need to focus before we can play.”
“Fine,” Faith replied with a slight pout.
“The sooner you can take the shot without me, the sooner we can take down this ghost and the sooner we do that, the more time we have together for other things.”

Faith smirked as she lifted the gun up again and aimed at the target, this time without Dean’s assistance. She fired and hit the target again and this time she was prepared for the recoil. Slayers might not use modern weapons that frequently, but there were certainly something to be said about the quickness that they learned how to use them.
