As she drinks the bitter and metallic blood from Angel’s wrist, Willow is mesmerized by the intense dark blue colour that is the night sky. It’s better to look at the sky than into his mournful eyes as he forces her to drink his blood. As well it helps her to ignore the unpleasant taste of the blood that he is giving her to save her life. A knife wound to the stomach had signaled the end of her life until Angel had decided to intervene by turning her into a vampire. It was a decision that he had forced upon her, one that she would never have made herself, and one that she had tried to resist. He had held her down as he had pressed his open wrist against her mouth, and the blood had seemed to drown her until she had reflexively swallowed. She started to become drowsy as the vampire’s blood started to work it’s dark magic on her. She briefly wondered just how much Angel’s intervention would cost them before she closed her eyes against the dark blue night sky.
