I had my qualifying paper topic defense today. It went well, and I'm now 'officially' working on 18th century calash bonnets and the conservation of a calash bonnet as my qualifying paper for FIT. Woohoo!
I started to read Harry Potter 3 today and am on page 106. I had a lot of time, ha.
I also wrote a lot of emails tonight regarding my MSU thesis.
Also, I'm trying to move slowly away from pattern sewing and really start making my own patterns. I have done this slightly before with some of my sewing, but a majority of it is from following a pattern. The first project I'm going to take on for making my own pattern is this Nicole Miller dress:
I just fell in love with it - I'm not 100% sure I will be remaking it in yellow, but I really like the design. I'm excited. The project is still in its infancy, but I will be sure to post pictures of my progress once I get moving.
Last night I worked on my embroidery a lot, and I plan to continue some more this evening. It's relaxing and I really want to finish it!
