I ended up having a really nice day with Dave. He called me around lunch time and asked if I wanted to walk around a local park with him since the weather was nice. I agreed, and off we went! He brought his boomarang, and we walked along the trails in the park. While there, we met an English Bulldog named Peanut who was sooooo cute!!
After that, we went to a party store to look for part of his halloween costume. They didn't have what we wanted, so we did some food shopping, including food that we made for dinner this evening. We bought a marinated pork loin - teriyaki, a teriyaki rice mix and fresh fruit. We grilled it on his grill and it was so good! After that, we took a nap (how exciting!) and then went over to his godmother's house since it is her 50th birthday.
This morning, I did so much laundry! A lot of my wardrobe is super gentle - things that need to be hand washed or dry cleaned. I have a basket in my closet that collects these things - and it was just super overflowing. I hand washed a shirt today that I swear, I think I wore on Christmas. (I know, I'm disgusting) But it's just a pain in the ass (this particular Christmas time shirt has all little beads and mini sequins on it- if I throw it in the machine, I KNOW they'll all fall off - and it's from Anthropologie, so I want to treat it nicely) So I washed about 10 shirts by hand and I still have about 6 that need to be drycleaned, including my cow cashmere sweater! I found it in a ball at the bottom of the basket! Eek! I think I take the worst care of anyone of my nice things - I need to get better at that!!
After his godmother's birthday (she's actually a cousin of his too) we went to Harmon's cause he needed a new toothbrush head for his sonic toothbrush.
So that was my thrilling day. I really didn't get anything done but laundry, but I really enjoyed the time with Dave. I don't have any homework due in the next few days, so I was able to spend my day like that, which is nice.
I think we've solidified our Halloween costumes to be Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf. He's going to get a wolf mask and wear a frilly flannel nightgown.
I wanted him to buy this costume, but he rather have a mask than a head. And he thought this one was a little too "feminine." I'm not sure how a nightgown can be un-feminine, but whatever.
I'm going to make the costume from
this pattern.
Here is an updated image of the pattern with a different color scheme for Little Red:
So, next weekend I plan on buying the fabric and to start sewing! I'm excited!!
