Ahem. My friends and dear readers. There is a problem in our country I think should be brought to attention. There are people who are still not recieving their full rights. They are white and black. They are men and they are woman. All of whom are suppose to have equal rights.
Well, how come they don't? Just because you're homosexual doesn't mean you needed to be treated differently.
There is a vast majority of people who believe that since you are gay you are not allowed to be married. They say it destroys the 'sanctity' of marriage. Straights have already done that very well themselves thank you. It is easier than ever for someone to get a divorce and find someone else. Yet gays, who are more likely to stay together once they have settled down, are not allowed to make their love legal. Infact, Bush wants to make it so gays can never be married or have a civil union. He wants to change the constitution just so a group of people can't have some rights.
If someone is in love why can't they show it to the world with a special ceremony? What little girl doesn't want to bound down the aisle in a white dress? So how come two girls can't? Why can't men kiss? Why should people be degraded just because of their sexual preferance?
Why should religion be a factor in any of this? Social conduct is not the business of a church. Our political system is not run by the Christian religion. In America you have the right to choose your religion. You have the right to choose to live where you want, go where you want and date who you want.
So why can't you marry who you want? That'd be like telling Hispanics they can't be married just because of their race. That'd be the same as telling anyone over the age of 35 they can't get married. It's the same as not letting people get remarried.
Why would you deny someone their right to choose their bride or groom?
Why would you deny lovers their right to wed?
Support gay marriage.
For my friends:
Make a t-shirt to support gay marriage. Straights can support gay rights too.
This is a big step to a completely tolerant and free world.
