here begins my holiday grumpiness

Christmas shopping season is full of SUCK. It wasn't too busy today at B&N, but have I mentioned how much I hate Christmas music yet? Because I do. More than soprano saxophones and Muzak rapes of Beatles songs. It's the most vile substance that ever oozed out from under a rock and clawed its way to my ears. Honestly, how many damn versions of "Little Drummer Boy" can there be?

The only reason I haven't shot myself in protest? Employee appreciation week. %40 off everything in the store and website, and at a bunch of other big fancy corporate brothels stores. But I don't care about those, because for the first week of December, I get cheap books!

I'm already eyeballing the complete/unabridged collections of Shakespeare and Mark Twain, a collection of essays by George Saunders, anthologies of Anne Sexton and Carl Sandburg, books about sociology and cognitive science, and a bunch of silly-ass sci-fi novels. I'm seriously happier than a pig in shit at the prospect of being able to afford all of these.

Any other book recommendations, flist?
