I know I don't get a lot of comments here, but I wanted to throw out a question and see what responses I get. So please, if you have an opinion, let me know

Hi, Liz, I deal with e-mails all the time at work as you do, and I guess the turn-around time is about 24 hours. Personal e-mails are different, as you say. I usually give the other person a week, since I know that he or she works also and may have husband, children, grandchildren, etc. I try to answer e-mails within one day or two, unless it's one that's going to require a long, storied answer. Then I have to be in the mood and have time enough to respond. However, I have the exact same things happen to me as you do; that is, I get a question regarding the very thing I've explained. It is frustrating and annoying, because then I realize that the person has not carefully read and thought about what I've said or what he or she has read and has answered only the first part. It's equally frustrating not to get an answer to the last question of two or three that I've posed. Again, a case of the other person not thoughtfully answering my e-mail. I'm as anal as you are about being exact and taking the time to read and answer the other person's e-mail. I always hope for the same in return. I've learned to be a little more forgiving toward the other person, but it's still frustrating. MOM
