Looking through this earlier I realised that it is a year ago today since my last posting on Livejournal. I thought I had better show myself so that folks can at least see that I am still alive. Although I do read through my friends entries regularly and occasionally leave comments I just don't seem to ever get round much to putting my own stuff on here these days.
Anyway, quite a lot has indeed happened since my last entry where I was lamenting my recently broken leg. The leg eventually healed, though I do still often get pain in the ankle if I'm on my feet for too long.....like a 10 hour shift at work!
So, Neil and I celebrated our Civil Partnership on August 5th last year (with me only just off the crutches). It was a very quiet affair with only a few friends in attendance. We wanted to have a church blessing and big bash afterwards but with the uncertainty over my leg at the time those plans were dropped. That is still something we would both like however at some point in the future. It feels good to be married to the man I love, and it's not too long till we celebrate our first anniversary, with a trip to Paris (corny I know).
I'm still with Sainsbury's workwise despite all my whinging about the place. I'm currently back on the all-nighter (which I used to work in London). 9pm till 7 am, not hours I particularly enjoy, but the money is better.
As for church both Neil and I have gotten more and more involved in the life of St George's. I'm regularly leading prayers and was recently elected to the PCC, while Neil has joined the serving team, and also potters about with the church garden. In contrast to my days of non-church involvement we are now involved in a very welcoming and open Christian community. I still need to do something concrete about training for Readership within the Anglican church. I have been asked a number of times and it is something I want to go for.......it's just a matter of making the enquiries and co-ordinating with work for time to train/study.
And for all you GCNer's out there hopefully we shall be at the Conference in January in Washington, which we rae both really looking forward to. We hope to follow it with a few days in the Big Apple as well, which will be great.
So.......yes, I am still alive and well :-)
