OK, here we go. It's a New Year, so I had better get to grips with updating this bloody Livejournal. So much has happened since I last updated in the summer.

2005 was a good year for me. After the trauma of the previous year I was blessed to enter a relationship with Neil that continues to grow. We have shared some wonderful moments together in the year that we have been a couple, the highlight of which was our moving down to Brighton together in September. We have a small but cosy flat in the Kemptown area of Brighton. It is the gay/bohemian part of town. We are only 5 mins from the beach, 10 mins from all the vibrancy of the "scene", yet it is actually very "villagey" where we are with lots of local shops and a real sense of local community.

After a search for a church home that included visits to the local MCC and Methodist churches we seem to have settled upon our local Anglican church St Georges, which is rather "higher" than we are both used to, with full processional at each service along with attendant "smells and bells". Yet somehow it seems right.

Last month was also the long awaited moment when civil partnerships were made law. We do indeed hope to "marry" in the next year or so. Our previous vicar at St Barnabas in Clapham offers blessings for civil partnerships ( and indeed is "marrying" his own partner this month), so we may well look into having the service and celebration there.

But yes, 2005 was a pretty good year for both myself and Neil.....and may 2006 bring even more for us both, and for all who are reading this.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
