This isn't meant to explain everything that happens in every episode. The focus is primarily on the tennis matches: who plays who, what the scores are, and first appearances of any special moves. Notes are made in regards to any particularly memorable events, and also to any not-so-memorable characters, just to act as a reminder to what their names are.
Later on I admit to including some not-so-objective comments.
Characters are generally referred to as they are in fandom - that is, characters who are more commonly referred to by given name (Ryoma, Shinji, Yuuta, etc) by the majority of fans are also referred to as such in here.
