Again, please read the earlier stories...
At approximately 11:30AM the truck FINALLY arrived, and load out began! The technical crew unloaded the carts from the truck, so that the set could be loaded up onto them, and then put back on the truck.
The stage manager, let's call her Rachel, saw that Roger and Heather (the lighting director and the asst. technical director) were taking a cart off the truck by themselves, and thought that she should go help them out. Hurrying towards the cart, she managed to step on a ratchet strap that was laying on the ground, turn her ankle in a direction it shouldn't go, and down she went.
It was a short load out for that stage manager, who was immediately banished to the lobby of the theatre to elevate and ice her newly sprained ankle.
If she had to get injured... at least it was at the end of tour, and not the begining, eh?
And with that, the 2007 Midwest Nebraska Theatre Caravan tour comes to a close. Someday, there will be a shirt. Slogans possibly forthcoming.
