So I was stupid and volunteered to be on the Fundraising Team for MIT's Open Ballroom Dance Competition this spring (btw, if you're around-come!). I figured I'd email some people, make some phone calls, maybe even help companies design ads for our programs and website. But oh no. Somehow we were thrown into this endeavor with outdated info, no contact information for the people we need, and no real guidelines. So yeah. Starting from the ground up, and we only have 2 months...Needless to say I've been so stressed out after emailing so many different companies, grant offices, and random dance people I have managed to bite off all of my nails. I've also blown off all my work for the past week, though to be fair, I didn't really mind doing that all that much. Plus I've been playing mommy, which is a pretty time consuming job. Though you know, I don't really mind doing that either. :)
There was craziness in Boston today, apparently Turner Broadcasting launched this nifty ad campaign for Aqua Teen Hunger Force where they placed these glowing light boxes around the city (and 9 others), on bridges and main streets and stuff. So the police freaked out, closed down the red line (which runs over the bridges), and blew up all the boxes. So we've had helicopters circling around all day and people stuck in traffic for like 12 hours. Finally, Turner Broadcasting comes out and says that they were an advertising campaign, and not harmful. I wonder why Boston was the only city to freak out, what about the other 9 cities they placed them in? So yeah, here's the article:

Ok, well I'm going to go meet my friend Sam who just got back to the US for dinner and hear all her stories of Africa and goats. Ciao
