Well, as most of you who care (or know Aubrey) probably know by now, I left beyondtherift on Saturday. It was a really hard decision, but the right one, I think, in the end. Maybe someday I'll feel comfortable going back as a player, but that's not gonna be in the immediate future, so I'm not really thinking about that yet.

It's left me at kinda loose ends, though. I've got three other games (all slow, thank gods) that I have a character in... stedelweiss,
paperkey, and
undertherainbow, but as much as I'm enjoying them all, they're not... "MY MAIN RP" games. Which sucks, because I'd love to commit my main attention to any of them. It's probably just that I need some time to get my head around the idea that I'm not in the Rift anymore - that's almost 2 1/2 years of my main RP focus that I need to shift.

On the up side, I think I've made a friend in UtR (other than the friend who I went there to play with), and she's enabling me something fierce for a Molly Carpenter. And of course, I'm a pushover with characters I like and know I can play, especially now that I've got the time.

IN OTHER NEWS, I've decided to single-handedly try to find people to help me re-code LJlogin to work with Chrome. The original creator doesn't use Chrome and has no plans to do it, but he's totally cool with other people doing it. So I've already submitted a post to (the moderation queue of) a Chrome extension developer's mailing list, in hopes of finding someone either interested in the project, or who can at least look at the existing code and tell me if it's just a matter of finding and replacing some of the Firefox-specific bits of the code, or if it's going to need pretty much a full re-write.

I think it's probably not going to need to be rewritten from scratch. A lot of it's just java and css, so it's a matter of finding the bits that are specific to Firefox, and either removing or replacing them as needed. Unfortunately, this isn't something I can do myself, because I know bugger all about code, but it's a start, right?

Right, I'm going back to reading old Lord of the Rings fanfic MSTs on AW's site. Good times, good times....
