Dear Doctor Who fangirls and fanboys:

STOP. THIS.

It's one thing to enjoy someone's work and think they're brilliant and jump at the chance to meet them. But when an actor very reluctantly comes out to the stage door and signs things without a single smile, a single word, or a single instance of eye contact? Wow, that's.... that's bad. That's beyond bad. Even if I wasn't into Who, as a theatre fan, just as a fan, I'm offended. That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. What the hell is wrong with people?

I always prided myself in being really good with actors, I could talk to them without freaking out (until they were well out of earshot anyway, as in every case of meeting Adam Pascal was followed promptly by squeeing), but if I see them in places outside of a stage door? Like, outside someone else's stage door or in a theatre, or anywhere, I AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE. Unless it was someone I knew well enough to stop and say hi (or they say hi to me first, that always unnerves me, especially if I don't think I know them very well, lol), I don't talk to them. I NEVER wanted to be that fan. And that's outside of theatres and before/after shows and intermission. People pulling shit like that DURING a show? They should have all been kicked out. Banned from all theatres. That's disgusting.

I'm hoping to go see Equus next month, and that's the kind of shit I'm fearing. And stage door? I'd forget about it, except I want to say hi to Spencer Liff. And his abs.
