Let's just say...things have been slow lately. Work, as I mentioned before is SO slow. There is barely any traffic in the store, so everyone's hours have gotten cut. I normally work 20 hours, and lately I've worked between 3-6 hours a week. People who work full time are only working 20 hours or less. It's pretty ridiculous.

Not that I've been complaining a lot (although money is always good), I've had time to get a lot of things done around the house. Catching up on laundry, helping putting up Christmas decorations, buying Christmas gifts, and finishing any plushie work for people. Speaking of plushies- I went from having barely any work at all, to having 8 plushies to finish! I'll be making an animal orb for Kevin's brother, a doll plushie for Dina, and little muffin plushies for Lindsey. The muffin plushies have a bit of a story.

Lindsey took on a project from a guy who posted on Craig's List. The project consisted of creating these original muffin characters, which were to be done for charities. The guy apparently has a lot of money though, and is willing to put all of his money into making this project succeed. With how much this guy wanted done, Lindsey found out she wasn't able to take on the whole project herself, what with all her other projects and her soon to be new storefront! She generously asked me to help her out, to which of course I said yes. I'd be getting paid $15 an hour for making plushies! Plus I had essentially no work to do. I'm excited to be doing something different.

Other than that, it seems like things have been sort of quiet. It was Lauren/Sassy's birthday this weekend, and we went up to Yard House to celebrate with her. I gave her a tiny Santa hat to put on her ManRay/ManTyke. Saturday evening there wasn't much going on, so Kevin and I went to Matt's house to watch Christmas Specials. We watched Rudolph, The Lazy Town Christmas special, and the He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special. Very entertaining. I think I need to watch Lazy Town more often, hahaha. We also enjoyed some yummy Christmas cookies and eggnog. It was a very chill evening- but next week at Matt's Christmas Party we'll get more than enough excitement and partying in.

It looks like I really do have a lot to accomplish this week. I'm hoping to finish the muffin plushies, finish getting gifts and wrapping gifts, seeing Mariko, plus I have to get some sort of Christmas outfit together for the party on Saturday! Still no clue yet...leaning towards being an elf. (For those who don't know, yes, you're supposed to dress up in some sort of Christmas related costume/outfit.)

Lastly, cosplay. I haven't sewn a costume since Halloween. I really miss making complicated costumes for myself. I'm pretty much set on making Viola from Eternal Sonata. I think I shied away from making complicated costumes because I would work so hard on them, then barely get recognition while at the con. Kinda makes you feel bad, ya know? I'm not trying to be an attention-thirsty cosplayer. But let's face it. Cosplay is about attention. End of story.

Since my Twilight Saga books have been long finished, I've picked up The Vampire Diaries, which I'm sure I've mentioned before. I'm nearly finished with the first book, and I have the second one waiting. The show however, seemed to stop back in the middle of November. They will be re-airing the show as a marathon tonight, and continuing through the week. After looking the show up on IMDB, it looks like new episodes will be returning on January 14. Gah! So far away...
