ontd_startrek Dragon*Con meetup planning - final(ish) post!

DRAGON*CON APPROACHES!!  Y'all, we are just too GQ for a single meetup, so I instead suggest FOUR so that hopefully everyone can participate in something.  Here are my ideas:

Meetup #1 -- the Friday 10AM Nimoy and Shatner panel of epicness.  I can't go to this one as I'll be working the 'con, so someone else will need to coordinate it (wanna volunteer? leave a comment below!).  HEY SUNNYREA, THIS PANEL HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE CENTENNIAL BALLROOM IN THE HYATT

Meetup #2 -- the general Star Trek costuming photoshoot on Saturday at the Pulse Bar (Marriott) moved to the 10th floor (a.k.a Skyline Level) of the Marriott after the parade (11am-ish).  Again, I'll be working so I can't make it, but I know our GQMFs will represent!  It's being coordinated by someone else and the details are here and also here.  Want a photo of you in costume?  http://starlady42.livejournal.com/921.html?thread=37273#t37273

Meetup #3 -- the Saturday 4PM Nimoy panel.  This got the most votes in the poll so it seems like a good bet.  The line will begin forming at 2:30; cutting in and/or reserving seats are generally frowned upon, so I suggest we meet up elsewhere and then all get in line together.  Let's say we meet up at the Pulse Bar (Marriott) at 2:45 with an eye toward getting in line no later than 3.  I'll have some sort of "GQMF" sign or something.  SEE BELOW

Meetup #4 -- drinks, movie screening, and general shenanigans chez starlady42 (in my room in the Hyatt) after the Nimoy panel -- so starting around 5:30ish.  Anyone who wants to can just walk over from the Nimoy panel with me; if people want to meet up at my room without going to the panel, I'll need a cell phone number so that I can call or text you the room number once I know it (email me at my LJ name at gmail dot com -- I don't know whether I'll be able to check email after Wednesday the 2nd, though, so email before then!).  I'll provide Green-Blooded Hobgoblins (alcoholic shots) and light snacks; if you want to drink or eat something else, please bring it!  We can fill the tub with ice to keep stuff cool and I'll have a small microwave if you want to bring something a little more substantial to have for dinner.  Hopefully this is a good time so that you can eat if you want to or still have time to go out for dinner afterward if that's your preference.  FYI, I will be booting everyone out no later than 9 so that I can get ready for the Colonial Day party and the Shindig. ;)

How does that sound?  If you have other ideas or anything, let's hear 'em in the comments!  I'm excited to meet you all!!!! :)

Side note: If anyone needs to find me at any point, the good folks in TechOps (Hyatt room 219) should be able to track me down.  Just ask for starlady.

PS: Can someone please message lordstarfish, morluna, phbtonyou, and yawmin to let them know about this post?  I ran out of messages (didn't even know LJ had a limit) and I don't really want to upgrade.  thanks :)

Edit: The Pocket Program is up -- get out your highlighters and start planning!  Note especially that the Nimoy/Shatner panel will be rebroadcast on Dragon*Con TV on Friday at 1pm if you can't make it in time to see it live at 10am.  Both Saturday panels (TrekTrak Show with Stewart and Mulgrew, and the 4pm Nimoy panel) will be rebroadcast later that day, at 6pm and 9pm respectively.  Sunday's Nimoy panel will be rebroadcast at 3pm and Mulgrew's panel will be shown at 6pm.

ALERT ALERT ALERT: The Daily Dragon is reporting that Nimoy's 4PM Saturday panel has been cancelled -- it has been replaced with a Kate Mulgrew panel. Much as I love Her Kateitude, I'm not really interested in that panel... the only other Nimoy panel is 10AM Sunday which I can't go to, so someone else needs to organize for that if y'all decide we should meet up. 5:30 shenanigans in my room are still on, though!
