☆ Dorian (Sin & Salvation)

This blend is an artful deception: a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea.

- from BPAL's website

Out of the bottle, it’s a deep, sweet scent, musky and warm, but not cloying. There’s something vaguely masculine about it - or at least, something that calls to mind a handsome, learned gentleman that makes you want to do dirty things to him (or alternately, have him do dirty things to *you*). The vanilla tea scent and the musk is very apparent.

Wet on the wrist, the tea note comes out in the forefront, with a hint of the vanilla. The musks aren’t very noticeable at first, but they start to come out as the oil dries, softening the scent a bit.

On dry down, it’s a soft, lovely scent. The musks complement the tea and vanilla beautifully, and I really can’t stop myself from sniffing my wrist - it’s just so nice. I think it would be wonderful on either males or females - it’s gender neutral enough for either, rather then gender neutral but leaning more on masculine.

Overall, it’s a rich, sexy sort of scent, soft and subtle but with great lasting power and throw. This is easily my favorite imp so far from the ones I have, so much so that I’ve asked my friend to get me a bottle while she’s in the States.
