It wasn't long at all before Loz heard about how this tall woman with a rod had beaten up Kadaj and took his katana. That was just uncalled for! Determined to get Kadaj's blade back and in the truly eager desire to make him proud, Loz sought after this mysterious woman and wanted to break her bones himself. He began by running through Traverse Town, looking all over. His brother had met her here before, so logically, she still had to be there, right?

Fortunately, his persistence finally paid off and he saw her leaping across buildings. Quickly, he climbed up the building, albeit a bit clumsily. He didn't have the knack for acrobatics that Yazoo and Kadaj did, but once he got up there, that wouldn't be an issue. He utilized his superspeed to leap across the roofs and bulldoze after her; soon, he skidded to a stop in front of her, effectively barring off her intended path.

"Hey! You attacked my brother and took his sword! Give it back!"

And, expectantly, he held out his hand like a child.

Well, Pluto immediately stops. This was...unexpected. She really should have paid more attention to her surroundings. But she doesn't let the surprise stop her from responding. Indeed, her eyes narrow slightly as she realizes who it is that she is talking to.

"I do not intend to return his sword at all, unless he has decided to stop attacking innocent people." She grasps the Garnet Rod tightly, knowing this wasn't the answer that the remnant wanted to hear. "I have already warned him of such foolishness, and so I will warn the same for you, Loz."

"Hmph...! No one's innocent!"

But Loz had no idea why that is; he's just echoing what he's heard his brother say before. He knew none of them wanted them and Mother to be reunited and was more than happy to beat them up for it. Beyond that, he was muscle for their cause.

"I'll just have to take it from your dead body then!" he said, a malicious grin spreading wide across his face.

With that, he lunged forward, reeling a fist way back and swinging it forward to attempt to strike Pluto's torso.

No one's innocent. Kadaj had said that. Did he truly believe that - did all three of them truly--

Pluto didn't have much time to ponder it. She barely managed to side-step the punch. Barely. Loz was faster than Kadaj, much faster. And, something else told her, being hit by that punch would have been a very bad thing.

"You and your brothers are blind to the truth!" She managed to gasp a response as she flipped backwards, hoping to prepare something resembling a defense. "Killing....will not solve your problem!"

"Nuh-uh! It's you guys who are blind! You'll see! When we find Mother--!"

--She'll fix everything.

It didn't really surprise him too much; Loz knew this lady had to be pretty strong to beat Kadaj, but it didn't matter. It just made the game even more fun and he had no intentions of stopping until he was unconscious or dead. He cracked his neck, leaning his head one side and then the other. Withholding his superspeed for the moment (he had brains enough to know that if she kept dodging him like that, he might go rocketing off the roofs and lose her), he swung a foot out, trying to slam his heavy booted foot into her.

"Your Mother is not here!"

She quickly went to block his foot, though she was not expecting what happened. She was hardly weak. But the hitting of his foot on her arm stung. She didn't prepare for it properly. It was as if someone had swung a sledgehammer right into her wrist, and the pain shot up and down her arm as she staggered under the impact.

It was quite clear it hurt judging by the tense gritting of her teeth. But she couldn't let him know how much pain she was in. Using her other hand she swung the Garnet Rod.

"Liar! Kadaj said we'd find her!"

But as soon as Loz caught wind of Pluto's grimace, his upset expression became arrogant and malicious with a grin spreading wide across his face. It was somewhat short-lived, because that rod connected solidly and he staggered to the side. His body practically vibrated from the impact, like Alarmed but not deterred by her obvious strength, Loz bared his teeth at her again, a mixture of his previous malice and a grimace of his own.

"You're tough, lady. Good! This'll make it fun," he retorted.

Let's see how fast you are, Pluto. He still doesn't pull out his cheap trick speed yet, but he does begin sending a barrage of punches at her.

Fun. Ha. Hardly.

Well, she's fast, but she knows she has no way to launch her own offensive. She can only parry as best as she can, which is difficult with her wrist screaming as it is. But somehow - somehow - she manages to block the punches with the rod.

All but one, aimed right at her head. Once it hit it could kill her, she knew it could. But Loz would never get the chance to use it. Somehow, instinct took over.

My powers were weakened, and I can no longer travel through time...

If space-time was weakened, and so were her powers...then...

Suddenly her Garnet Rod began to glow brightly.

"Time! Stop!"

Fast, indeed.

Loz was almost gleeful at the prospect of such an interesting challenge. His grin grew wider when his last punch closed in on her head. Then she yelled something and he didn't have time to register what that meant. Suddenly, his body came creaking to a stop, his giant fist within inches of Pluto's face. The attempt was successful; Loz was effectively frozen in place.

It's not simply him - the very air all around Loz is frozen, all time stopped. And yet, there is no sting, no hand of death which takes hold of Pluto - she feels drained, yes, but not fatally so. It was as she realized. Cut off from the Space-Time Door, her powers were greatly weakened - but so was her forbidden attack. Here, she could use it.

Be prepared to fly off the roof, Loz. That Garnet Rod is flashing again.

"Dead Scream!"

Had Pluto not unleashed an attack, Loz would have never suspected time had even stopped. As it were, he came to as the attack blasted into him and he only had time enough to comprehend that he'd been struck-- hard. He went flying back, tumbling off the roof with a loud yell of both shock and pain. For a moment, there was nothing but silence... Then Loz came clambering back up the roof, still sizzling from the Dead Scream-- and he didn't look happy. That hurt, lady.

"No more games!" he snapped. "Not if you're gonna cheat!"

And with that, Loz upped the ante himself; he finally exploited his super speed. He shot forward, moving so quickly that he left afterimages in his wake and attempted to plunge his fist into Pluto's ribs with no restraint.

Pluto wasn't expecting the super speed, and thus had no time to prepare. When Loz's punch hit, a nice loud crack came from under that sailor suit. She instantly sagged from the impact, collapsing onto the ground and biting her lip to stop herself from crying out as each movement brought nothing but pain to her chest, her whole body., and her wrist kept singing from the pain.

She could breathe fine despite her gasping - no punctured lung, at least - but she was well aware that was small comfort with Loz standing over her.

That crack was immensely satisfying-- enough to bring a smug sort of look back to Loz's face. It looks far more like a condescending sneer at Pluto's angle, however, and appropriately so. He lifted up his left hand, splaying his fingers out and hitting the switch that triggered the handle of Dual Hound to flip out into the palm of his hand. He grasped it and the large spikes on the pile bunker shot out, sparking with electricity.

He knelt down over her and swung his fist down with the intent to run her through with the pile bunker-- and in the same spot as he'd cracked her ribs, so no less. He wanted her to suffer; he only offered quick deaths to those he liked.

Which... right now, was nobody.

And the weapon was quickly stopped, inches from Pluto's face - by the Garnet Rod. It held the sparking weapon in check, but Pluto knew it would only be for a few seconds before he applied more power to his attack. She had to be quick, and think, fast. It was clear he was very strong, but not particularly smart. But how could she use it to her advantage.

...The remnant had mentioned his 'brother's' weapon. He had wanted it back...

Even when she was down, Pluto fought valiantly. If he didn't want to kill her so badly, Loz might admire that. As she expected, he tried to gain leverage and put more strength behind his arm and that pile bunker, determined to break straight through that Garnet Rod if he had to. Consequently, to get this leverage, he planted his free hand on the ground, leaving his torso pretty defenseless in his current position.

Quick as he was, it would take more speed than he possessed to block anything at this close of range.

Loz was open. If she didn't act now, it was over. And she had the perfect way to respond. It was ironic, actually. In other circumstances, it could be considered cruel. But Pluto knew how dangerous the remnants were. The longer she could sideline them - perhaps even kill them - the better.

Her good arm sagged off of the Rod, as if relenting, allowing Loz's weapon to come ever closer. But she had no intention of letting Loz win. Before Loz knew it, there was another weapon materializing in her free hand and coming right at him, point blank, with as much strength as she could muster.

Souba.

Hey, Loz did want her to give Kadaj's weapon back.
