It had taken a bit of doing, but Ned finally managed to get away from the compound and down to Summerfell. He had hoped that he would see it under more pleasant circumstances - and even in his distracted state he was impressed with what his children (and he included Jon in that, as he had never thought of Jon as anything other than his son) had done with what was available here. He had told them that he wished to speak to them, now that they were all here, and he knew he would not be able to relieve the puzzled and worried looks on their faces until his story was complete.
He had debated for a good while about telling Rickon, given his young age, but he decided in the end that Rickon had likely heard worse and if not, he would soon enough. They were a family, after all, and it was a family matter. It would be difficult, but
Jon had asked him to tell it, and perhaps this was penance for his lie.
[ooc: I think this might work best if we have Ned tell the tale much as he did with Jon, and not all in one clump; Ned tells a bit and someone reacts, he tells a bit and someone reacts, until he's said his whole piece, and then after he's said it all, any of the kids can tag the last part of his story with questions, criticism, omgwtfbbq, etc... ping me if you have any questions about it.]
