This is a double entry! OMG!
Part one will be my reviews of the CDs and samplers I got yesterday..let's go!
All Left Out - "Never Say Never" - 4.25/5. The accents give it an extra quarter point! I can't think of another band that has accents while singing aside from Cock Sparrer. Pop-punk not at its best, but DAMN close. It's catchy and it makes you want to bounce around.
I Scream Records - "Summer 2006 Sampler" - haven't actually listened to the whole thing yet, but what I've heard isn't too bad.
Topshelf Records - "2006 Northeast Sampler" - 3.5/5. Lots of ska, punk, and rock! Topshelf only has TWO bands on their roster (Aeroplane 1929 and Sixfinger), and they are both represented, along with bands from Eyeball, Ocean, etc..
Victory Records - "Free Music Sampler" - 3.5/5. I really like the two songs by The Black Maria, but the other band (On The Last Day)..eh. Alright.
Vaux - Promo EP - 4.5/5. The first two songs from "Beyond Virtue, Beyond Vice", and another song called "Celibate Good Times". Kicks serious ass.
Vaux - "At The Fox Theatre 8.13.05" DVD - 4.5/5. Three songs from BVBV and "Set It To Blow". I say 4.5 because it's not seeing them in person, and that is at least a 6/5.
Vaux - "Beyond Virtue, Beyond Vice" - 5/5. Revolver gave it 5/5, and so am I. It fuckin' rocks. Go buy it.
No, I'm serious. Go buy it right now!
Speaking of yesterday..Tori, I talked to Kat, and I just have to bring her some duct tape. I'll do that this weekend and send finished wallet/CD/money to you next weekend. \m/ My mom also thinks the pictures are awesome!
So I got to work this morning and um..omg. Warped kickbacks. I obviously didn't drink enough water yesterday or something. I got to first break and I could barely even move. So I came home at 9:20, took a nap, and have been heavily hydrating all day. Next year..taking the day after off, as well.
Bleh. =/
