Before
reading this post, be warned that it definitely contains spoilers for last
night’s ep., and may contain spoilers for future S2 eps. SO TURN BACK NOW IF
YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED.
I just wanted to comment to you that I think it's great that you can vent, share, bitch and moan about how you are feeling and still able to get your point across without it being vicious
*shrug* Just the way I am. Got picked on a lot as a child, so as an adult I try to respect others and disagree politely. If everyone did that, the shipper!wars and Cam!hate would be much reduced.
I joined the house_md community and was very appalled yesterday at how bitter and hateful some of the comments that were thrown around.
I think part of the problem is that too many people are 'personalizing' the characters. Meaning that they call Cam names and tear her down as if she was a real person. She isn't. She's a construct created by writers (as, of course, is House and all the other characters). Which is why when I have an emotional reaction to a character, I want to crawl inside the writer's heads and know WHY they chose to write/direct this character to act in this particular way. But to hate a character and spend my energy bitching about her and what she does/says? Seems like a waste of time to me. Better and more interesting to debate WHY. And I think many on the H/C comm agree with me, which is why you don't see Wilson!hate or Cuddy!hate (although admittedly, a little bit of Stacy!hate, although even then, most are able to say they like Sela if not Stacy) on the H/C comm.
I might not agree with everything that you posted
Anything in particular you disagree with?
I like him a little bit better as a "snarky, vulnerable-beneath-the-surface" House.
I think it detracts from the realism. Especially when the patient only shows the key symptoms in his presence, or when his methods consistently don't work for other people. If he can't teach his methods, what's the point of having fellows? Get a handful of lab techs and have a list of other doctors you consult with, as needed, and that's it.

I agree here. I think we get ourselves so wrapped up in the fandom that we really start to believe that these characters are real and I know I have been guilty of this in the past. I know for me I tend to latch on tightly to a fandom and everything they do or don't do I take so personally. That's why I can't jump in on the Cam!hate regardless of how I think the character is being protrayed.
Anything in particular you disagree with?
Well for the most part I agreed with what you said about the way they are turning Cam into wimpy!Cam. Funny but yesterday I even noticed someone took the screencap from Shrek (Puss in Boots with the big sad eyes) and had a screencap of Cam next to it with the same sad eyes and honestly I thought it was pretty funny because in that one moment on the screen I really thought she was going to start to cry. I just really think that the writers are setting Cam up right now to be wimpy and I really do believe that they will redeem her. It's all in the how.
"I am also mystified, however, as to House’s reactions this whole ep. Not that he was nasty to Cam, I kinda saw that coming, and I think I know where it’s going, but I’ll spare you my spoilery predictions of future eps."
Can I ask for your spoilery predictions? I am a spoiler wh0re and can never get enough of people's thoughts.
Yes, the Cam/Puss in boots comparison was kind of funny and annoying to me at the same time. Ah well, people are entitled to their opinions. There's Opinion, and there's Truth, and ne'er the twain shall meet.

I hope they redeem her. But I really wish they'd found a more plausible way to do so. It strains credibility that she'd ever get through med school without having dealt with these issues. Some hesitancy/dislike of telling a patient bad news, maybe feeling a little blue afterwards? More believable (and House would probably still pick on her for it, so it would still meet the dramatic needs, if a little less melodramatically. But (possibly) running dx tests in the hopes of a deus ex machina dx, practically crying herself while giving the terminal dx, and hugging the patient as if it was her own sis that was dying? Wrong wrong wrrooooong! They would've booted her ass out of medicine for sure. Or at least recommended some serious psychotherapy. Call me, Cam, I'll refer you to some good people. We'll get those boundary issues fixed in no time.
Can I ask for your spoilery predictions?
It's nothing major (and will probably shift), but if you go see the reply I made to princess04klutz below, and highlight the 'blank' space at the end of my reply, you'll see what I'm thinking about development over the next few eps..

My pleasure!
I love your spoiler predictions for TB or not TB.
As I said, nothing that deep or insightful, *shrug*, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me, at the moment.
