So.
That's it. The election is over. And the American people have spoken. They wanted four more years, and that's what they got.
I really thought that Kerry would win. Honestly. I thought that the American people were fed up with what was going on with Iraq and the economy and our foreign relations. But no, they voted on wedge issues. Abortion

Second comment: Kerry is not the divider. That's just the nature of the country. Almost all of us lean towards one party over the other. Generally, when we recognize good leadership, we back up the president, despite political affliation, like Clinton, who won overwhelmingly won in 1996.
I think it says something when the incumbent wins an election with such a thin margin. The country is more divided than it was before, and who do we have to blame for that?
It's certainly not Kerry. Kerry was just trying to represent the Democratic party. And he did a good job.
Also, I am by no means spreading hate. I didn't say anything negative about Bush. Yes, I didn't want him to win, but I didn't freak out about it like, "OMG WE'RE ALL GOING TO HELL BECAUSE OF BUSH!" I truly don't think that it's going to be as bad as people are making it out to be with their threats of moving to Canada and whatnot, but I truly believe that Kerry would have made the nation a better place. Obviously, you think otherwise, which is just dandy, as long as you have support for it. But don't tell me I'm spreading hate. I'm not. If I may be so bold, I'm almost inclined to say that you are. You're the one bashing Kerry.
The nation is torn, yes, and we should come together, but come on. We just got out of an election. Of course we're divided. That's what elections are all about. Not everyone is a Republican and not everyone is a Democrat and that's alright. We have time to mend. But we shouldn't have to mend out of our own free will. Bush needs to step up and show us a reason to support him. That he won't continue to increase the national deficit. That he won't leave Iraq without making sure the nation is able to keep themselves afloat. That he won't try to isolate a great amount of the nation by trying to create legislature based on religious beliefs.
He's got half the country convinced, but now it's time to work on the other half.
