I guess her work is done

It's been 15 months since navia and I last saw each other face to face, and yet it felt like barely 5 minutes had past once we reached her house, lol.

Things I know that will always be a staple of our lost weekends:

- Two couches. That's all we need. No, really. The hours I log sitting, sprawling, writhing, laughing, contemplating, gossiping, overanalyzing and bitching on her furniture is unreal. From Thursday night until Monday morning, I know I made a permanent ass print. Personal or pop culture, familial or fandom - the topic doesn't really matter after all these years.

- A sore throat. I suppose the hours I log talking, laughing, screaming and moaning would be too scary to contemplate, and my vocal chords cry out in pain every so often. Never mind her housemate, though he's too nice to ever blatantly put in the earplugs and slam his door shut, lol.

- JuC. Yes. STILL. Oh, the epic timeline of love, longing and lyrics. I can't even describe the phychosis nor do I really want to. All I know is that we have an epic thesis dissertation on the subject as well as a nostalgic and wonderful affection for our JuC crew of friends, writers and teenies.

But this time around, there were new traditions! There was an actual sleeping pattern that fell in line with normal society. There were properly-timed homemade meals that replaced the old pattern of tarving ourselves until our insides shut down! There was bathing and grooming that occured before nighttime (well, except for one day, lol). It was like we were actual functioning adults. Who knew?!

And then there was me allowing myself to succomb to a new fandom like a damn amatuer. Oh, I have successfully navitaged all of Navia's traps and blatant pimping in the past and been quite proud of myself. A few Queer As Folk DVDs, a couple Hero episodes, a full-length Harry Potter movie and even the beauty of Star Wars Christian Haydensen in songvid form have never once reeled me in.

But my first hit of the crack pipe came in the form of Big Bang. A group of talented, entertaining, stylized, delightful and RIDICULOUS hip-hop/poppers that make me want to fly to Korea to go see a concert right the fuck now. It wasn't just the sheer force of their performances and personalities that did me in. It was also seeing how they appropriated American rap and made it their own. What brazen ego and yet what adorable fanboys. Fascinating and highly amusing, I might add.

And as if THAT wasn't enough, there was the awe and splendor of DBSK which taught me in just a few bits of footage the true potential and utopia of RPS band fandom. How an international group of pop stars can also double as gorgeous high-fashion models in glossy magazine spreads, package and market slash and pairing/"couple talk" as if it's a fucking institution AND sing and dance as if they're liquid sex is kinda unreal to me. Unreal!

It's no wonder I'm more than a little intrigued.

Clearly, I have a thing with hauty, beautiful boys standing against a wall:

And clearly I have a thing for five-party harmony and outfits:

And profiles. I just. SWOOOOOOON. Rising Gods indeed:

After hemming and hawing at my love for all the members, I finally decided on my top three. Below is dated picture so forgive me, but it's the only one I could find in a google search!

Going clock wise starting with my absolute favorite Shim Changmin who is the youngest, and who I believe is the most natural comedian and sarcastic ass. His too cool for school elitism caught me at first. It was this air of sophistication, awareness elegance in pictures that went far beyond his years. Then there was the highly amusing disgruntled skepticism on his face in regards to stupid media rituals or redudant questions. His quick, biting wit literally had me in laughing out loud most times , but so did his silly slapstick humor. And his gorgeous face and silky hair (though, that can be a dealbreaker, lol) and the clear adoration he holds for his group members just sealed the deal. Plus! There was so much talk of his evolution from boy to man that made me excited as well because I feel like I am discovering him just at the right time.

My second favorite is Kim Jaejoong who is hands down the most beautiful member. And somehow that gets overshadowed by his charm and versatility within the group. Honestly, if there was ever a candidate for a group slut, I think it would be him. Except I think it goes deeper than that because he seems to hold the group together with the sheer force of his personality and attention to detail. He seems to think SO deeply and earnestly about everything and everyone in the group and yet there's a catty, mischeivious bad boy quality that's so entertaining. It's no wonder he's likened to the female role in almost all of the couple talks, lol.

My third favorite is Jung Yunho who is the leader and the most deliberate in photo shoots and also the most articulate in interviews. But that shit is just a cover. His sexuality and bravado and POWER onstage literally made me gasp in awe. He was a vision and in clear control of the crowd and his crew. I want to see what makes the man tick and uncover the boiling, passionate blood that's beneath the professional - although still charming and loveable - facade.

But let's go back to pictures of my favorite shall we? lol
