I have tried to respond to individuals, but that has proven entirely too overwhelming so you're stuck with yet another post.
In all honesty, my aunt is the vocal, passionate one. She is the one who changed her entire career and joined leagues with the CFDC and administers the HIV testing and counsels at local high schools and colleges. She is the one who can rattle off the history and the statistics.
Today, I wanted nothing more than to remove myself from the equation. I was terrified that oversharing on a personal level would oversimplify the magnitude of the issues at hand. Then I read various posts and comments, and I was reminded that some of the best things about this community are all the different voices and opinions and perspectives.
I am constantly moved by all of you. No, really. ;)
Thank you for reminding me about the signficance of today as well as all the work that remains.
