A day at the fair...

Today Johnny had to shoot the parade & carnival for the Moraine Heritage Festival.

While he had plenty of help for the parade, he needed someone to take stills photos at the carnival while he shot video.

TADAH! Stephanie to the rescue. So I put on one of his old MVCC polos & wandered around taking shots of all the vendors, rides & various people have a grand ol' time.

It would have been much nicer, but we've had scattered showers in the last few days & a huge thunderstorm had rumbled through this morning leaving the whole day extremely humid. The sun came out for a few minutes & the whole place just steamed up. I was covered in sweat...ew.

It also started to rain at the end, too & we had to get the equipment put away so I shot a last few & he finished up the show with the Elvis impersonator & we called it a day.

I did make it a point to go back to the vendor which had lots of pirate gear & bought myself one of the medallion necklaces that Elizabeth wears in the first Pirates of the Carribean movie. I've ALWAYS wanted one of those. And a funnel cake. Seriously, it's sacrilegious to go to a fair & not get a funnel cake.

You tell me what is better than deep fried sweet batter covered in a pound of powdered sugar??

The only thing was I got sunburned, even with sunscreen on. My face isn't so bad, but I think the sunscreen just sweat right off, but my forehead, cheeks & nose have this permanent rosy hue. But it's my arms that hurt. I think it's more sun allergy than burn, truly. That used to happen at Girl Scout camp. I've gotten bad burns that really hurt, but sometimes I'd get a splotchy burn that itches & burns & it only seemed to be on my arms. That's what this is. Good think I have some Aloe Vera chilling in the fridge. :3

fun times, pirates, mvcc
