Yes yes yes! That's a great idea. I think it'll make it look all professional too. ;D I know someone on my friends list who published her book herself through a... I guess a helpful self-publishing company. Have you ever thought about doing that, or is that a hinderence to getting published by one of the bigwig companies?

I'm not ruling self-publishing out. However, I'm going to give it all I've got to try for a publishing house to hook me up - with self-publishing, there will be NO advance (not that going with a traditional publisher guarantees an advance, but the chances are way better). Also traditional publishers usually help with promoting the book - and also, bookstores are more likely to buy from a publishing house than a self-published author trying to get them to stock their shelves with the book.

I'm also not ruling out eBooks, but that'll probably be a last resort thing. Cross your fingers that the traditional publishing route works for me! ♥
