OMG, can I say I just really REALLY agree with you? No one else believes me when I say it, but i totally think there was some polyjuice potion in action as in Dumbledore was not Dumbledore, and it was all done to take down a serious supporter of Voldemort!!! And then Snape looks evil, but loyal to the cause, bringing him into prime position to fight the evil!!! Plus, he's like the best occulense around- of course he could fool everyone into thinking he was evil!!

Flaw in my plan: Would Rowling really use Polyjuice potion a second time to cover a huge mystery/shocker? But maybe it teaches that sometimes the simpler things (well, simpler because the main three made it in the second book) are what end up fooling us all!!! The simpler the plan, the better it works!!!
