Happy Belated Passover

Yeah... so I saw the "First Day of Passover" notice in my calendar, but then apparently forgot about it... Then again, it's next to IMPOSSIBLE to keep Kosher in Germany, so I'd probably just be a miserable person right now had I remembered; everything here is bread. I was already bad this week when I went to my program coordinator for our weekly Kafeeklatch. She always feeds us really good pastries and cookies and stuff, and this week was a bunny-shaped donut thing. Totally not Kosher. But if I had refused to eat it, she probably would've flipped on me. She's like the overbearing mother I never had... today she basically lectured me that I should come to her if I have any problems...
I went out today in search of matzoh... it doesn't exist here. So instead I checked the ingredients on every cracker-type product and found one that doesn't have a leavening agent. I also bought the most humongous box of Corn Flakes known to man... because I'm Jewish and it was on sale. :-P
It's really crazy how big of a deal Christianity/Catholicism is over here. EVERYTHING is closed for the next 4 days, which isn't good for me considering I need to get the paperwork done for my new job (McDonalds... oh boy!) and I'm still waiting on Sparkasse to get my EC Karte (ATM card, basically) back from Friedrichshafen (I don't know how it ended up there...) so that I can stop living on 10 Euros and be able to pay my internet bill. All three of my Mitbewohneren are going home for the weekend. Everywhere I go, people I don't even know wish me a happy Easter. I was really tempted to start wishing everyone I saw a happy Passover... but I'm not sure that'll go over too well.
Oh, and apparently Rutgers thinks I'm graduating in May. That might be a problem.

... Frohe Ostern!
