My Mitbewohners and I went out to rent and watch movies last night, and you can imagine my ecstacy when I found "Die unglaubliche Reise in einem verrückten Fleugzeug!". The title intrigued me, so I pulled it off the shelf... one look at the front of the box and I exclaimed "AH! Dieser ist mein Lieblingsfilm!"
Yes. It was Airplane! In German. With a ridiculously (side note to all: this is the correct spelling of the word... I'm sick of all that 'rediculous' nonsense!) long German title.
Some of the jokes didn't quite make sense auf Deutsch, like the "drinking problem" (auf Deutsch sagt er "Alkohol Problem", and then it didn't make much sense when he threw the drink into his eye...), but I giggled regardless.
And after all the tens of millions of times I've seen this movie, I still managed to notice something new. We were waiting through the credits because I told everyone there was one more scene at the end, and I noticed that for no reason "Author of Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens" is in the credits. And I giggled some more. Fantastic film!
I gotta find somewhere to buy it... it was seriously dubbed into 16 different languages.
