I just wanted to apologise on behalf of one of my colleagues for defacing
your midterm front page this afternoon.

As I was recording your grades today a colleague came in to chat with me
while eating, and spashed some ketchup on page 1 of your exam.
Fortunately, I had already graded the paper before this happened.

So please be prepared to receive a soiled paper.
