hahaha dickerhoof, how it amuses me so. It happens to be the last name of some woman that was interviewed on the news the other night, but has turned into some sort of strange amusement for me. I do feel a bit bad for someone who would have to go through (or marry into) life with such a name. Really I do. Anyway I have decided it is the perfect phrase to utter when in a sticky situation. Like for example if someone caught you not paying attention when you should have been, just blurt out "dickerhoof!" they immediately wish to know what it is and by the end of your story, all past transgressions are fogotten. It works nearly as well as "Indeed" which I have graciously stolen from Teal'c but works very well in a great number of situations. Indeed. <-- see?
Lost
ah yes what a good eppy, felt very Lost-like and I enjoyed the plot points greatly. More backgroud info on Sayid was cool and yes I do believe the guy was one of the others. The whole part about Sawyer and the frog was kind of out of place for all else that was happening, but I'm sure it means something somewhere down the line. Now I'm not 100% sure but that frog looked like a poisonous dart frog. I always thought they were neat because of their colors and how sleek they look. It sure didn't look like any tree frogs that I have seen. Important? Who knows.
Now in the hatch. Almost to zero! I've really been wondering what happens when the countdown gets to zero, and while I guess technically it did get to zero, whatever came afterwards can clearly be stopped and reset. I immediately took interest in the symbols on the counter, because they were very obviously Egyptian Hieroglyphs, though I've learned in Lost never to trust the obvious and that things are not always what they seem. And yes I am still sticking with my idea that Ana Lucia did not shoot Shannon. I know they say she did and she thinks she did, but I still don't think so. Now unless it was a filming mistake, that was definately a white man standing there and not Ana Lucia. Anyways back to the counter (and yes I replayed this back a couple times), the first three squares are black and the last two red. I recognized two of the symbols, the Vulture and the Folded Cloth, I think the other one is called the Flame but I'm not entirely sure and I have no idea what that Y shaped one was. If these are indeed Hieroglyphs, perhaps they tell a message, though I did notice that they didn't stop in order (from left to right to be read this way) and of course we don't know what the second one is. Oh where is Daniel Jackson when you need him huh?
So I looked around a bit online on some Lost forums and found this to be quite the hot topic of discussions. Most seem to lean in the way that they are Hieroglyphs and that when deciphered and read (inserting a random character into the second slot) that it reads the causative "die". This would seem like a nice obvious answer, but a little too obvious for me. I also came across another solution that they represent the six constellations of Apollo (and that since this hatch is project 3 of 6, they are called as such). This one is a bit far fetched and I don't really see the correlation between the symbols and the constellations, though it is interesting. Thinking of Apollo, the other was shot with an arrow (I know thats reaching lol) and if I recall correctly, when they first found the hatch, weren't all the candy bars in the food pantry called "Apollo"? I need to look into that, just because I'm curious about it. haha or maybe it's a Stargate address just without the point of origin ;P
Now when the counter started flipping, there was a very obvious sound of something about to happen. To me it sounded like blast doors closing and something big powering up. I am most curious about this as well as the counter, and if something did indeed happen when the counter did it's thing.
Also while scouring the forums, there was also an interesting notion brought up about the military guy from Sayid's flashback, the one holding the picture. Someone suggested that the guy is Kate's dad and that the picture was of her much younger. I suppose age wise it would be right and I have to admit the girl in the photo did bear a striking resemblence to Kate. Related? I have no idea, though I do find it interesting that all the survivors from the crash do have something related to each other in one way or another. Also the guy who had Sayid torture his CO, when he released Sayid we learn he obviously didn't need Sayid as a translator at the beginning. It was interesting that he said he taught him something that he would need later and Sayid's response that he would never torture anyone ever again. It was also interesting what he said to Charlie at the end and that perhaps he was meant to do what he did, or will do again? I dunno. What I do know though is that I just want to know all this stuff damnit! argh!
/end Lost musings
Invasion and American Idol, both interesting and entertaining. Invasion is really getting good and quite interesting. We got our top 24 for American Idol and I am pleased to see that my favorite gal and guy are both still in it along with a few others that I have come to like along the way. There are a couple that I just really don't like, but it'll all come around when they get voted out by the people and can't blame it on the judges (or just Simon hah!) hehe Simon, I don't quite know what it is about that man but I still find myself strangely attracted to him. I think it's a combination of his sarcastic manner and the accent, love the accent. eehe
