Why This Must Be Read: CA was one of the first authors I stumbled across in the fandom, and she remains one of my favorites. Yes, this is a Christmas story, but it's a good look at the friendship of first season Jack and Daniel complete with some small team moments as well as Janet and Cassie. Christmas in July, right?
"See, Daniel, that's why you should come to Christmas dinner. You know it can be fun. Cassie would love to have you."
"Cassie, doesn't even know what it's about, Sam."
"Who better than an anthropologist to explain it?" Jack threw in.
"Umm, a minister, a priest, a pastor, even a Rabbi, Jack, and why are you trying to convince me to go when you aren't going yourself?" Daniel asked suspiciously.
"Well, uh- you just strike me as the Christmasy kind of guy, Tiny Tim."
"Jack, I swear if you come up with one more name…"
"Daniel, dial us home, would you?"
"Why does it always have to be me?" Daniel groused as he went to the DHD.
"Because we carry the guns and cover your butt while you dial."
"Oh, yeah."
