Why This Must Be Read: When he first debuted on the series, it was pointed out that there were a number of potential Runner signals found besides Ronon's. This is the story of someone who took the same situation, and made a very different thing of it. Elizabeth is a key player in this story, though her part isn't a major one. I like this one because it acknowledges how the realities of what some of the people of Pegasus do are viewed through the perceptions of someone from Earth, and how they are also viewed by those of Pegasus. The final resolution to the problem encompasses the security of Atlantis, the legal realities both on Earth and in Pegasus, and the question of whether a Runner can, by any definition, be called sane. Elizabeth balances all of these things, and makes the only decision she can for the safety of Atlantis.
