This was very nice. It's interesting to hear Sam's view on the others. In fact, it would have been neat if this had been an even longer piece, where maybe Sam's thoughts mirror some action or incident that SG-1 is in the middle of. Or, as jeanniewal said, that this was a prologue to a longer fic. But even as it is, this was very well done :)
I like it. The style might be too distant for a really long piece, or one with action, but it works well with Sam's contemplative mood. There were a couple of things that I didn't necessarily agree with, but that's neither here nor there in terms of style. ;) This line was a bit confusing to me: no one ever turns to Daniel Jackson, individual, when the fate of the world is on the line. Not anymore. At first I thought Daniel must have ascended, and was confused about the present tense in the paragraph above. Then, after reading further and discovering the time frame, I figured that this must be when he's Adria's prisoner. It's not very clear, nor whether she's griping about pressure there, or mourning his loss (if that's where he is). Definately keep experimenting, that's never a bad thing!
Very nice. This fandom has a tendency to whump on Sam a lot, so it was refreshing to see such a well written character study for her. I liked it a lot!
