This is a reasonable way to play it out.
Besides, whereas some women want to start a family right away after getting married--most nowadays wait 2-10 years at least--if they want children!
And most women don't want to be considered a mom before a wife, at least that's how I've observed it.
I would think Carter, whether she could have children or not, would want to be herself to the person she married, first, and although since she would a be around some age after 35, might want a shorter wait for motherhood because of the age factor and the simple fact that Jack has known her in so many roles and ways that the time factor for them would be "unique ( ... )
