“Unplanned Moment” (1/1)
by Lisa Michelle
Daniel looked up from his book at the sound of the knock
at his door. He got up and opened the door to his quarters.
Vala stood there in a white terrycloth robe with her hands
behind her back, as if she was concealing something. She probably
was. “It’s late, Vala,” he said. “What do you want?”
Vala walked in as if she had been invited. “Why are you so
cranky? It’s New Year’s Eve.”
“Vala -“ Daniel took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. “I’m
not in the mood for games.”
“Neither am I.” She pulled the bottle of champagne from behind
her back and took a big swallow. “I’m ready for a party.”
Daniel sighed and shut the door. “You better not be naked
under there.”
“And what if I am?” she said.
“Then you’re leaving. Now.” Daniel walked back to the chair
and sat down.
“It’s New Year’s Eve and you’re reading?” She untied the robe
and passed the champagne bottle to her other hand while she worked
the robe off her body. “Happy New Year!”
Daniel looked at her. She had on a black bra and panties with a
white sash draped over her body like a Miss America contestant
that read “Happy New Year.” Daniel shook his head. “Okay the sash
is more for a baby to wear. The tradition is out with the old and
in with the new.”
Vala sashayed over to Daniel, perching herself on his lap. “But
I’m pretty fresh, darling.”
“Oh, I know you are,” he replied.
Vala set the bottle on top of his opened book. “Let’s have sex,”
she suggested.
“No.” Daniel picked the bottle up and set it down away from
his book. “How much of this stuff have you had?”
She picked the bottle up, closed one eye and peered inside.
“I don’t know,” she replied. “But this is your last chance to have
sex with someone this year, Daniel.”
“What makes you think I haven’t?” he said.
“I mean sex with someone other than yourself, darling,” she
replied and took another swig from the bottle.
“Vala, I’m in the middle of something -“ he began.
She got off his lap and walked around the room. “Do you have
any music in here? I want to dance.”
“No, I like it quiet,” he replied.
“You should live in a library, Daniel.” She took another sip of
the champagne. “Then I’ll sing.”
“Please don’t.”
“Oh, you know what I heard.” Vala came back over to his desk and
sat right down on some papers on the edge. “Sam and Mitchell went
out to dinner together. Isn’t that great?”
“That doesn’t mean they’re dating.” Daniel pulled a piece of paper
out from underneath her butt.
“People do actually date, Daniel,” she said. “It’s not just two
friends and coworkers out for dinner.”
“Do you have any other gossip from the rumor mill to impart?”
he said.
Vala got up. “Lisa told Walter and he told me, so it’s got to
be true.” She went and sat down on the edge of Daniel’s bed
with her half-empty bottle. “Are you done reading yet?”
“No.”
“Fine, I’ll just sit here and drink my champagne,” she said.
“Pretty soon there won’t be any left for you.”
“Quietly, I hope.”
Vala took off the sash and tossed it onto the bed. She looked
around his quarters. “Daniel, you need me to decorate this place
for you. It looks so dull and boring. Kind of like you.”
“I think you need some pictures or maybe some of those tacky
statues in your office,” she suggested. “Oh, I know what you could
do.” She gestured towards him with the bottle. “Take some things
from the planets we visit. That would make your quarters unique.
Eclectic.”
Daniel turned around in his chair to look at her. “That’s called
stealing.”
“No, I mean you could ask or trade something. I know a lot
about trading . We could be partners. How about that?” she asked.
Daniel looked at her sitting on the edge of the bed in her
underwear. She looked pretty damn sexy even though she was
drunk. She took another drink of the champagne, but the sip was
a bit too much and the liquid ran down her chin and chest.
“Oops,” she said. “I guess I got a little messy.”
Daniel took his glasses off and set them down on his book. He
got up and went over to her. “I think you’ve had enough.” He
took the bottle away from her and set it down on the floor in front
of the bed.
“I just need a napkin or towel -“ She looked down at her front.
Daniel knelt down in front of her and before he realized it he
was licking the champagne off her chest. He felt her arms come
around his neck and felt her move her body closer to him. It
wasn’t like she needed much encouragement. He knew he went too
far just by doing this, but it wasn’t planned.
“See, I knew you really wanted to have sex with me,” she told
him as his mouth made its way back up to her chin.
Daniel pulled away. “You’re drunk.”
“No, I’m not.”
“Vala -“
“Okay, a little,” she admitted. “You could get drunk, too.”
He eyed the champagne bottle, picked it up and took a long
drink.
“See, that’s better, isn’t it?” She grabbed the bottle from him.
“C’mon, we can finish the rest of it in bed.”
He didn’t answer her, stood up and went back to sit down at his
desk.
“Daniel,” she whined. “C’mon.” Vala got up and went over to
him, wrapping her arms around his neck, the cold bottle resting
against his thin t-shirt. “It’s almost the new year.” She planted a
kiss on his cheek and scrambled back to the bed.
Vala set the bottle down on the nightstand and crawled onto
the bed. She grabbed the second pillow and stacked it behind
the other one, settling herself down on the side he usually slept.
Her bra strap fell off her shoulder and she fixed it. He wished
she hadn’t.
This next moment was planned. He had no one to blame but
himself.
Daniel walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge right
next to her.
“Oh, goodie, you changed your mind.” Vala sat up and put her
arms around him.
“Not exactly.”
Vala pouted and removed her arms from around his neck.
“But, Daniel -“
“We’re not having sex when you’re drunk,” he told her.
“Well, then let’s go get some coffee. I’ll sober right up,”
she suggested.
Daniel shook his head. “We’ll have to wait until the new year.”
“But isn’t it the new year yet?” She looked around for a clock,
but didn’t see one.
“Trust me, you’re going to want to be sober for it.”
“Oh, I am?” Vala raised one eyebrow. “So you’re telling me
you’re so amazing I -“
“Let’s just say that good things come to those who wait,” he
told her.
“But I don’t like waiting.” Vala flopped back down on the bed.
“Waiting isn’t one of my strong suits.”
Daniel lowered his head down to her stomach and kissed it.
Vala raised her head up. “What are you doing?” she asked.
“Do you want me to stop?” he said.
She shook her head. “No.”
“How about a preview?” he suggested. “A little coming attraction.”
Vala smiled. “That sounds naughty.”
“Is that a yes?”
“Yes.” She nodded. “Absolutely.” She rested her head back on the
pillows.
Daniel resumed kissing her stomach and moved his mouth lower
until he encountered the edge of her black panties. He worked them
down her body and off her quickly. Crawling onto the bed, he spread
her legs and lowered his head between them, using his lips and
tongue to tease her opening.
He felt her hands tangle in his hair as he eased two fingers
inside her and heard her moan. She tightened her grip on his
head as he continued to work his fingers inside her. Her moans
filled the room and he thought she had to be close now. Daniel
took his fingers out and she whimpered in protest.
He looked up at her. Her hair was spilled out over the white
pillowcase as her head moved from side to side. Daniel lowered
his head once again and dragged his tongue over her clit as he
pushed three fingers inside her. She shattered, calling out his
name.
“So that was just a preview,” she said breathlessly a couple
minutes later.
“Yes,” he replied.
“My expectations are high now, darling.”
Daniel leaned down and kissed her on the lips. “Good.”
“I’m going to have to sleep here now since I’m too tired to
move,” she told him.
“That’s fine.” He got up from the bed and returned to his desk.
He heard Vala get out of bed and slide in under the covers.
“Happy New Year, Daniel,” she mumbled from the bed.
Daniel turned to look at her and saw that she had taken off her
bra and it was lying at the end of the bed. She looked all snug in
his bed. “Happy New Year, Vala.”
