"Don't bite your friends!"
The show Yo Gabba Gabba is a very interesting show that my 2 year old absolutely loves. When I first saw it a couple years ago (before I was a mom), I was thinking "What the fuck is this shit? I will NEVER let my children watch this crazy show with this orange, fuzzy man dancing around the screen!"
My daughter watches it everyday and shoves the DVD in my face. "YO YO YO MOMMY!!!!!"
The characters include a one-eyed, red cyclops named Muno, a pink flower monster named Foofa, a yellow robot who is their mentor named Plex, a green, furry, disgruntled monster named Brobee, and a blue, feline looking creature named Toodee.
The man who brings these characters to life is DJ Lance Rock. He wears a fuzzy, orange hat, dark rimmed glasses, and jumpsuit. The shows consists of several different segments of old school video games, the Super Music Friend Show, which features a musical act, a dancey dance with a celebrity, and a comic called Super Martian Robot Girl. The episodes focus on a certain subject that they learn about.
The show has taught my daughter that biting your friends is NOT okay, to not be afraid of the dark, and to be nice to everyone (among many other important life lessons).
What really made me love this show was the music acts. They had bands on there like The Shins, Mates of State, and The Ting Tings. How cool is that?
My husband and I randomly break out into a "Yo Gabba Gabba" songs because these songs are so damn addicting and get stuck in your head.
Needless to say, the show is a thousands times better than that whore Dora. She can speak 2 different languages and still can't find a damn tree!
P.S. I sorta, kinda, maybe, just a little bit have a crush on DJ Lance Rock. I would like to meet him. He's magical. LOL!
