The star maker says it ain't so bad --
So tomorrow I'm off for a week to do research at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute. It should be pretty epic, actually.
Also, I was reading the info sheet they sent out, and this paragraph made me choke on some lemonade:
"Research at PARI requires that special attention be given to lights and electromagnetic radiation on the site. PARI employees and frequent visitors are required to do everything possible to maintain the site free of RF transmissions. At times, the use of non-diesel vehicles may be prohibited at PARI. Also the use of white flashlights or automobile lights at night may be restricted."
Obviously I've been watching too much Lost with my friends lately, because the first thing that went through my mind was "as;lkdjf;kal DHARMA STATION MUCH?" I promise you, if they have a banner hanging up somewhere that contains the word namaste, I will flip. *laughs*
I'll be coming home with a telescope, too. This is gonna rock, you guys.
