Oh, hell.

You know you've lost it when you're still up at three in the morning researching novel-things.

Currently I've got tabs open about Dragon*Con, vacuum energy devices, maps of New York City, and military ranking systems. Yes, all of these are relevant to my noveling interests. Also, my desk has been officially converted to the Novel Zone, all my books on writing and my No Plot? No Problem! kit on hand, as well as multiple Sharpies, Post-It notes, U2 albums and a teacup shaped like a leaf.

I've tried to tape my official Novel Affidavit to the wall, but it keeps falling off. I hope this isn't an omen.

I'm overthinking this, aren't I? I can't exactly help it. I've never written anything longer than 25000 words, and that took me the better part of a year. The Novel has started showing up in physical form in my sketchbook as a black flying thing with an ominously toothy grin looming over my head. I should post a picture. Hopefully it will mutate into something fluffier and less deadly-looking in the coming weeks. We shall see.

And now I'm going to retrieve a little more info like a good, crazy author-person, and go to bed.
