This weekend was a hell of a lot of fun, thanks mostly to a visit from my favorite doppelganger, spastic_visions. Hockey, Top Gear, and fabulously over-the-top action movies were watched (The Chronicles of Riddick never gets old, and Daybreakers has the best worldbuilding I've ever seen in a vampire movie), delicious food and drink were consumed, hilarious

You do know there have been LoM zombie stories and even, briefly, an LoM zombie com right? Really, the fandom would welcome it.

Haha, I did not know about this! I keep forgetting that LOM has such a huge LJ presence. (I sort of think of that fandom as one of the Great Old Ones of LJ -- massive, powerful, but mostly under the radar these days...still, there are sometimes ominous rumblings from the deep.)
I'm one of those poor saps who perpetually shows up late to the party on the fandom front -- I watched LOM for the first time just last year, and was hardly aware of any fandom presence just because it wasn't a super-recent show. I shall have to investigate this!

Compared to many online fandoms, Life on Mars was always on the small side, under 2,500 members at the main com at its height of activity. It was always a bit left of centre and with "real looking" people that kept a lot of potential shippers away who favour a well turned ankle. *g* At this stage it's not very active at all, small canons don't often lead to sustained fandoms, but there are some fen attempting to revive it, I'm just not sure how it will go.
I hadn't thought to ask for meme questions, but sure. *g*
