Lions and tigers and bears, oh my.

Well, close, but not quite.

Our next-door neighbor owns a lovely grey-and-white cat named Murphy. She's fairly young, dainty-looking, and politely affectionate. For the most part, I'm very fond of her.

Lately, however, Murphy's decided that she likes our family, and has taken to leaving little 'presents' for us at the front door. Yesterday I went outside to get the newspaper and almost stepped on a dead shrew that had been carefully laid out on the doormat. (It was sort of a pity, too -- the little thing was awfully cute.)

Does anyone know what we can do about this? I understand that it's basically a compliment for a cat to give you its prey, but I'd really rather not have to dispose small rodents in various stages of eaten-ness on a regular basis. *makes a face*

In other news, Doctor Who has started up again, which makes me happy. I may try my hand at writing some Who-fic, at some point. It's a fun universe to play around with, which is one reason, I think, that the show itself has survived for so long. Hurrah for crazy British science fiction!

Oh, and if I'm very lucky, I might be able to see the Police in concert in a week or two. We're heading up to Michigan for my aunt's wedding, and they'll be in Detroit right when we're there...tickets are on the verge of selling out, apparently, but I'm still majorly hopeful. I love Sting and the Police, and how cool would it be to see a band I grew up listening to live, in concert? *bounces*

Speaking of which, that Live Earth concert is on TV right now, so I'm gonna go watch.
