How's the weather lately? HAHA! It's been gorgeous this past week. Nice warm weather... clear skies... no real rain... I could really get used to New York weather.

My birthday went pretty well yesterday until my group leader decided to let everyone in Dining Room 1 know and have them all sing happy birthday. I'm still catching shit for that. But hey, at least I met even more new people. Lunch has been pissing me off to no end. Yesterday, the fire alarm went off, so that cut 20 minutes off of my 45 minute lunch. For the next three weeks I have to eat out of K2, which is Skills 3. Pretty basic dishes... chicken, beef, fish... just cooked vegetables and fancy looking mash potatoes. People in Hell Block go to K1! Which is Cuisines of Asia. Ugh. What I wouldn't give for some tangerine chicken and fried rice. Man, I am dying for some freshly cooked Chinese food... and their moving on to Korean food soon. Damn!!! Today, in DR1, I was completely surrounded by Hell blockers. ALL THAT CHINESE FOOD! I am deprived.
I consider this to be poor mise en place.
