Caged Bird
So I was looking at icons - namely, the group that my current icon came from, from techno_icons - and one of the comments mentioned that one of the icons with Fai that said "Caged Bird" was a great idea for a fanfic. I was instantly inspired and wrote a poem right then.
Not totally happy with the way it came out, but oh well, I'll improve in the future.
Credit to symmetry for the idea to use the icon for writing. Hope a poem is alright!
Caged Bird: Fai D Fluorite
He sits in his cage
Swinging gently high above a
Bottomless abyss
The bars are made of lies and promises
Of ice and stone and magic
Woven like threads of destiny
Bonds that should be made,
Held back by the mask
On his face, with tears
Flowing from beneath,
Form the lock that taunts him
And the key that he
Refuses to see
Made of peace and future,
Of wings unclipped from treasured clasps
To stretch and stretch and stretch
To beat against the bars
Made of lies and promises
Of ice and stone and magic
And broken hearts held tight
