[Jumping into the water for a swim was not supposed to send a person to an entirely new world.

So! Have a very distraught lion, trying to understand what happened to him, why it's so cold (compared to Africa), and where the Pride Lands are.]

[...........A LION.

Okay, okay, Maka's read all about dealing with distressed animals. No sudden movements. Be calm. Hold out a towel.]

H-hey there, boy.

"Boy"? I'm not a cub.

[But boy are you getting a strange look.]

What kind of monkey are you? If you're even a monkey.

[IT. TALKS.

She should be used to talking animals, she really should, but...it's a lion!

Well. If he can talk that means he can reason, and if he can reason he won't eat anybody.]

I didn't say cub, I just said "boy"! Unless lionesses can grow manes in your world.

...And I'm not a monkey, I'm a human.

It's Simba, if you're going to call me anything.

What's a "human" supposed to be? I've never seen anything like you in the Pride Lands.

Okay, Simba--[hope you enjoy getting a towel dropped on your back]--take this, you're all wet.

A human is basically an animal with advanced intelligence. You wouldn't see any where you live because humans tend to live in settlements away from where your pride would be. Lions and humans don't mix very well.

With ego like that, it's no surprise. Kind of like talking to an elephant.

[The heck is this towel thing? Whatever, he stands up and shakes himself dry.]

...I can't say I've ever talked to an elephant. Animals in my world don't talk.

What do you mean, they don't talk?

Exactly what I just said, they don't talk. Animals don't talk! They can communicate, of course, and they're not unintelligent--they just can't talk in ways that humans understand. They certainly couldn't carry on a conversation like you and I are having right now, if they see a human they're more likely to run away or attack.

That's sort of what I meant by humans having advanced intelligence, it wasn't meant to be an insult that's just how it is where I'm from.

...Geeze, you act like I'm gonna eat you or something.

[Bad humor? YOU BET.]

Don't worry, Hakuna Matata.

...You're going to have to explain to me what that is. Is that how lions say "you're not meaty enough to eat"?

[Brace yourself, he's going to sing it.]

It means no worries, for the rest of your days~
It's our problem-free, philosophy:
Hakuna Matata!

[...Good job, Simba, that gets applause from her.

THE LION SINGS TOO.]

Oh. I see.

[There's a brief pause since he can't sing Pumbaa's role. In which he explains in simple talking while tapping his paws and generally dancing along to the beat in his head.]

There are times, where you can't dwell on things that go wrong. Nothing good comes of it, and there's nothing you can do. So why worry?

[Back to singing, of course, as he sort of dances around her. Kind of encouraging her to sing along, almost. If she could gussy up the willpower.]

Hakuna Matata!
What a wonderful phrase!
Hakuna Matata;
Ain't no passin' craze!

[...Ah, he's not stopping. She's...not really sure what to do in this situation.]

Um. Right. It means no worries.
