Posting because I ought to

hello, I just realized i haven't posted in a long time, and haven't said anything substantial in an even longer time. Such is summer I guess.

But as much as I've enjoyed summer I can't wait for the school year so I can start drama club XD. The rest of it can wait but I really want to get back in drama club. As i said to Matt, it's been far to long since I've been on a stage under the lights. I really want to take a bigger part in the fall play. There were a lot of things that went well with "The Dreaming Tree", and a lot of people that worked very hard for that, but so many things didn't work, or could have been better, I just want to have a hand in it, to say I gave the thing everything I could. I really love drama club, it's brought me to (or just brought me closer to) some of my favorite people. I love being on a stage, being larger than life, communicating a feeling, or evoking one. I love watching that happen through other people. Acting is, in it's essence, a pretty simple thing, everybody acts, even in day to day life, telling a story, or being some one they're not. At the same time it's something that's very much bigger than me, bigger than any actor or audience because it focuses on the things all of us have in common, our pains, joys, quirky mannerisms. Drama is something that once you get in to, you're addicted to it. I know so many people that just need it. That rush, satisfaction. and man, as a drama club we deserve something better than what we're working with, I want something bigger than this. It's an addiction, what can I say, I want more; more audience, more plays, more acting. I think we can get it too. Not all at once of course, but I think as a drama club, we can do better, we deserve better, because we've got something to say.

Maybe I'm so crazy about Drama because that's how I view life. 'I am going to work for something bigger, because I have something to say.' Maybe a little extreme, but you've got to have motives. I'm slowly learning that; learning more, meeting more people, there are some people from my trip to Panama, from Rosie's Place, from all these random places, that have inspired me, and countless others (some refered to above) who I'll always admire and respect.

I'm going to stop now before I go over board on the whole sappy song-and-dance, but I dunno, i wanna get back to drama club rehersals :D. back to work.

So yes, everyone needs a motivational rant ever once and a while, mine decided to be an LJ post XD. eh well. vote lauren. XD XD. haha. yeah, I'm leaving now, really. bye!
