"Go Tunnel!"
Toby's first group agility class was tonight. He did really well, and I won't bore you with the particulars. However, funny story- we were doing exercises that were supposed to be "tunnel ->a-frame". Toby thought I said TABLE, and not TUNNEL, and instead of running INTO the tunnel, he zoomed right past it and jumped on TOP of it, stopping like it was the pause table and looking back at me awkwardly. It's hard to be embarrassed when you're laughing very hard. :D The next go round he aced it, so I felt better. He did better with his dog walk and a-frame contacts than he has ever done!
To my sheer delight, a lady named Darlene who is one of my FAVORITE board members from the shelter here that had hired me as their dog manager, is in my class!! I'm the one that referred her to my trainer last year
She also lives in my town (well, the fancy part of it!) so we're going to carpool! She does therapy work with her adult golden and the puppy who is in Toby's class is hoping to follow in his footsteps, so she's a great person to know regarding therapy work. I think I'll have her meet Penny one of these days and tell me what she thinks about a career for her in therapy, which I think would be the best thing ever for this dog.
It's probably no surprise for you guys, but Penny may not be leaving... :p
